FAQ's
-How do I sign up my child for the NFL Youth Flag Football League (NFL YFFL)? You can register 1 of 4 ways. 1)Register online at www.recreater.com 2)Call our main office at 301-600-2936 3)Fax in a flyer that may have been distributed to your childs' school at 301-600-2595 4)Register in person at our main office in downtown Frederick at 118 North Market Street.
-Which age division should my child be in? We currently have 4 age division with our NFL YFFL, a 5-6 age division, a 7-8 age division, a 9-11 age division and a 12-14 age division. We follow the same age cutoff policy as FCPS, which states the participant's age is determined based on how old they are on September 1st at the start of the school year.
-What if I have a special request? All requests must be made at time of registration and should be made either over the phone or in person.
-Can I request a specific NFL team for my child to be on? You may request an NFL team for you child to be placed on, however these requests cannot all be met.
-What if I have more than one child that wants to participate? We will make sure that all siblings are placed on the same team if it is age appropriate.
-Can I request for my child to be placed on the same with a friend for carpooling purposes? Yes, you may ask for this request. We try to accomodate as much as possible however please be understanding that we may not be able to fulfill your request.
-What is the format of this league? This league is a 5 vs. 5 league with teams of up to 10 players. This league is an 8 week league, meaning your child will play 8 games...no playoffs. The 5-6, and 7-8 age divisions are strictly for learning fundamentals if you are new to flag football...no scores or standings are kept. For the 9-11 and 12-14 age divisions we do keep scores and standings, we do however still stress the non-competitive nature of the game and focus on fun, learning and sportsmanship.
-What does the registration fee include? Your player will receive an NFL Youth Flag Football jersey (not an authentic NFL jersey), still pretty cool though. These jerseys are reversable for home and away games. Your player will also receive a flag belt. Both the jersey and flag belt are theirs to keep. With the registration fee we will also be able to provide paid referees for every game.
