Tournament Information

Every fall, current registered NFL FLAG Football leagues have the opportunity to compete in Regional Tournaments around the country. This year, the winning teams from each age bracket will advance to the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions, taking place in South Florida as part of the 2010 Pro Bowl festivities.

The 2010 dates and locations will be released later this summer.

Tournament Registration

  • To participate, you must be part of a registered 2010 NFL FLAG League.
  • Please note that your team and your participants can only register for and play in one tournament.
  • Spaces are limited and teams will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.
  • There will be a $150.00 registration fee per team to participate in the Regional Tournament.  We will gladly provide registration refunds that are requested at least two weeks prior to the tournament date that the team is registered for.  Once registration closes for a regional tournament, we will not be able to provide any refunds.
  • Locations and site dates/times are subject to change.
  • Registration closes two weeks prior to each regional date or when the tournament reaches its maximum capacity.
  • Participants will be provided with jerseys the morning of registration.
  • Players' ages will be reviewed as of September 1st of the current year.  A player can play up into an older division, but cannot play down into a younger division.

Tournament Details

Teams must consist of at least five players.  However, we recommend that teams have at least eight players with a maximum of ten players - five on the field, with up to five substitutions.

Participants must be registered NFL FLAG participants in the current calendar year.  The NFL reserves the right to disqualify players and/or their teams if they are not registered as a NFL FLAG participants.

Only those registered as NFL FLAG participants will be eligible to participate in the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions.

Teams will be charged a $150.00 registration fee to participate in the Regional Tournaments. We will gladly provide registration refunds that are requested at least two weeks prior to the tournament date that the team is registered for.  After that date, we will not be able to issue any refunds.

The NFL reserves the right to verify that winning teams and players from each regional tournament are part of official NFL FLAG Leagues.  If a winning team or player is deemed not part of an official 2010 NFL FLAG Leauge, they will be disqualified from the NFL FLAG National Tournament of Champions.

The tournament format is as follows:

  • Pool play during the morning.
  • Playoffs in the afternoon with seeding based upon team records during pool play.
  • Each team will be scheduled for at least three games during the tournament

Age Brackets are as follows:

  • 9-11 Co-Ed (teams may be made up of co-ed, all girls, or all boys)
  • 12-14 Boy
  • 12-14 Girls


NFL FLAG Regional Tournament waiver and a copy of each player's birth certificate must be submitted at the check-in tent. A copy of each player's birth certificate is required on-site. Orginial birth certificates will not be accepted.

Participants cannot play without a tournament waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

Participants must bring their flag belts and mouth guards for the tournament. Extras will not be provided. Participants will be provided with jerseys for the tournament and teams must wear that jersey for the event.

All games will be played using the NFL-provided NFL FLAG intermediate (brown) footballs.  Team balls are not allowed.

Check-in for all Regional Tournaments will begin at 7:00 a.m, unless otherwise noted. NFL FLAG tournaments will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m, unless otherwise noted.

Teams will be confirmed prior to the tournaments.

Registration closes two weeks prior to each tournament date or when the tournament reaches its maximum capacity.

The NFL reserves the right to cancel or change the location of a Regional Tournament due to inclement weather.

All decisions made by the National Football League are final.
